You can make a difference!
Each year thousands of people serve as Banner Health volunteers serving local community needs — helping people in emergencies, raising funds for equipment and services, providing blood, organizing programs for the elderly, for the youth … and more.

Banner Health volunteers come from all walks of life to join our family. The diversity of our community is represented in our volunteers, ranging from high school students to adults to seasonal visitors and retirees.
Our volunteers work directly with people and provide behind the scenes support. Our goal is to find a match for your interests with opportunities at our medical facilities and through our community programs.
Service from the Heart
Helping others feels good, and helps you feel good about yourself. Your local Banner Health medical facility can work with you to provide rewarding experiences, opportunities to utilize your talents, or provide training to help you serve your community.
The rewards of volunteering are many:
- Working in a health care environment can develop an interest in a medical profession or in a particular skill.
- Volunteering provides valuable work experience that young people need in applying for jobs, scholarships and college programs.
- You will receive the intangible rewards of contributing to patient care and recovery.
- You can make a difference and contribute to society by giving back to your community.
- You can make lifelong friends.
The first time you hand flowers to a hospitalized patient or direct visitors to a patient's room, you will understand your important role in the healing process. According to research and our own experience, patients have greater confidence in their recovery when they know they are surrounded by caring people.
Where can I volunteer?
Volunteers for Banner Health have the opportunity to work at any Banner Health hospital, in our home care programs and at our behavioral health centers. Within the hospital, volunteers can choose to work in patient care areas, with the public or with health care staff. We also host a number of community events where our volunteers can lend their expertise.
When can I volunteer?
One of the best parts of volunteering with Banner Health is the flexibility we offer in scheduling your volunteer time. We ask that volunteers donate at least four hours each week. Positions are available mornings, afternoons and evenings, seven days a week. We'll be glad to work with you to develop a schedule that meets your needs.
