At Banner Health we recognize good communication is at the foundation of your care. For our patients and their companions with communication barriers, we have resources available to enable your full participation in health care services.
The services of an interpreter or other accommodations are made available to patients or their companions upon request, or when Banner staff identifies these needs. We provide access to interpreters 24/7 at no cost to you. Patients should tell staff about their interpretation/accommodation needs as soon as health care services are sought, or anytime during treatment.
Interpretation by a patient’s family member or friend is discouraged due to issues of confidentiality and medical accuracy. For unforeseen emergent situations, Banner Health may need to rely on these individuals until a qualified interpreter is available.
Banner will partner with you to find accommodations to effectively communicate with our health care teams.
