Michael Garnreiter, a member of the Banner Health Board of Directors, is a retired vice president of finance and treasurer of Shamrock Foods Company, a Phoenix, Arizona-based regional food distribution and dairy processing company. Previously, he was managing director of Fenix Financial Forensics, a boutique consulting firm specializing in financial damages and litigation support. He also served as treasurer and chief financial officer of Main Street and Main, a publicly traded restaurant operating company
Garnreiter is on three public boards of directors including Knight-Swift Transportation, a national truckload carrier, and Axon Enterprises, a manufacturer of law enforcement video systems and software as well as less than lethal electronic control devices.
Garnreiter’s nearly four decades of business, financial and consulting experience spans such industries as mining, manufacturing, food service, entertainment, health care and more. In addition, he had a robust 27-year accounting and auditing career with Arthur Andersen.
Garnreiter is a certified public accountant in Arizona and California, and he is a designated financial expert according to the rules of the Securities and Exchange Commission. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from California State University, Long Beach.
