COVID-19 is a highly contagious respiratory illness that is transmitted through droplets. There are three main ways that this virus is spread. First, droplets can spread through the air if an individual is close to someone who is infected with COVID-19. You can also become infected if droplets and small particles that contain the virus land on your eyes, nose or mouth, especially when the infected person coughs or sneezes. Lastly, touching the eyes, nose or mouth with hands that have the virus on them can result in becoming infected with the virus.
Symptoms of COVID-19 are wide-ranging and may include fever, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue and muscle aches, among others. If you think you might be infected with COVID-19, it is important to stay away from others and get tested to avoid spreading the virus. More information about COVID-19 can be found on the CDC website.
