About Banner Baywood

Banner Baywood Medical Center is the Phoenix area’s fastest growing hospital in the East Valley. The 350-bed community-based non-profit facility shares a campus with the newly expanded 111-bed Banner Heart Hospital. Services at BBMC/BHH include the following: cardiology, orthopedics, critical care, neurology, and oncology in addition to comprehensive medical and surgical services.  Affiliations with the University of Arizona and Midwestern University schools of Pharmacy are maintained. The inpatient pharmacy department has an innovative clinical team supporting an active clinical program including anticoagulation management, antimicrobial stewardship, parenteral nutrition, pharmacokinetics, pharmacotherapy, renal dosing and IV-to-oral interchange services as well as providing drug information and patient education. The MedCare Clinic is staffed by clinical pharmacists who provide outpatient medication monitoring, management, and education for patients with diabetes and heart failure. 

Medical services include hospital-based physicians (hospitalists) on site at all times, general and specialty surgeons, comprehensive cardiac care, 24/7 intensivist program, stroke center, rehabilitation center and state of the art adult cancer care as well as mind/body/spirit therapies to enhance healing. 

The pharmacy department provides 24-hour services, supported by over 60 full-time pharmacy personnel. An automated dispensing system is utilized throughout the hospital.  Decentralized pharmacy staff are located in telemetry and neurologic units.
