The PGY2 Critical Care pharmacy residency at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix is designed to train highly qualified individuals for a critical care position in an acute care facility. and/or an advanced fellowship in research or critical care pharmacy practice.
The resident will have a multitude of opportunities and experiences including direct patient care, research, teaching and precepting. The primary responsibility of the resident will be providing high quality, evidence-based care in a patient centered approach. Clinical duties include multidisciplinary rounding, documentation of clinical activities, providing medication therapy and monitoring recommendations during rounds, formal and informal consultation and management of medication therapy per established policies and protocols.
Additional opportunities afforded to the resident include precepting pharmacy students and PGY1 pharmacy residents, providing education to learners and practitioners, and participating in research and quality improvement projects.
