The last place you want to end up is an emergency room. We understand. But if that happens to be the place you need to go, the staff at Wyoming Medical Center is ready to help you.
Ours is the only ER in Casper that can treat life-and-death conditions such as heart attacks, strokes, traumas and serious illnesses. We are a Regional Trauma Center covering 250,000 Wyoming lives.
Our fleet of nine ambulances respond to about 10,000 emergency calls per year, and has been recognized by the American Heart Association for its expert care of serious heart attacks. In the ER, a staff of nurses, providers, CNAs and support staff respond to almost 38,000 ER visits per year. Our emergency medicine physicians and nurses are trained to provide immediate recognition, evaluation, care and stabilization for patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Should additional specialized care be needed, physicians of all specialties are on call.
Wyoming Medical Center’s Emergency Room is on the first floor of our Center Tower with direct access off Second Street. Valet parking is available from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day.
We understand that you may be in extreme pain and not feeling well. We make every effort to see every emergency room patient as quickly as possible. Any patient with a life-threatening injury or illness will be seen IMMEDIATELY. Please understand that it is our duty to take care of patients with the most serious issues first.
If your medical issue is not life-threatening, you may be seen more quickly at our Immediate Care or Urgent Care East clinics.
Sometimes patients require transport by air ambulance to ensure the quickest possible care for medical emergencies. The flight crew of Wyoming Life Flight includes a team of critical care credentialed registered flight nurses and paramedics and our pilots are some of the best in the nation. This crew transports patients to Wyoming Medical Center where they can access full trauma, cardiac, neurological and advanced intensive care services. When necessary, our Life Flight crew will also transport patients to an alternative facility for the best possible treatment.
Our partner, Air Methods, owns and operates the helicopter and airplanes used by Wyoming Life Flight.
