Brain

We are dedicated to providing the gold standard of care for patients with brain tumors and other conditions, including awake craniotomy for tumors in eloquent locations, and using minimal access keyhole and tubular approaches when appropriate for tumors deep within the brain. Our team includes the only neuro-oncology fellowship-trained brain tumor surgeon in the Front Range with strong collaborative ties to oncology specialists in Northern Colorado.

We provide treatment for:

• Brain tumors (gliomas, meningiomas, schwannomas, and other tumors of the brain)
• Hydrocephalus
• Epilepsy patients with vagal nerve stimulation or reactive neurostimulation in place
• Parkinson’s disease/essential tremor patients with deep brain stimulation in place
• Traumatic brain injury of all types
• Trigeminal neuralgia and other cranial nerve pain syndromes

Spine and peripheral nerve

Our neurosurgeons are focused on providing optimal care for patients within the full spectrum of spinal disorders. When appropriate, minimally invasive approaches are used to help patients decrease recovery time and return to their desired activities as quickly as possible. In addition, cervical and lumbar disc arthroplasties are used as a motion-preserving option for certain patients. We are also passionate about helping address the pain and functional decline associated with complex spinal deformity and tumors of the spine. We employ all the tools at our disposal to take pressure off of important neurological structures and, when necessary, realign the spine with an instrumented fusion.

We treat:

• Adult cervical, thoracic, and lumbar degenerative stenosis
• Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar disc herniation
• Complex cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spinal deformity
• Intramedullary, intradural/extramedullary, and bony tumors of the spine
• Median, ulnar, and peroneal neuropathy
• Traumatic injuries to the spine and spinal cord including sports injuries
• Tumors of peripheral nerves in the upper and lower extremities
