When your child is in pain, we use every modality available to maximize their comfort. This is why we have developed the Banner Children’s at Desert's Integrative Pain Management team. The team is made up of staff from all departments who care for children and are dedicated to making patients as comfortable as possible. Working together, the team acts as pain control advocates and resources regarding pain relief in children.
We know each child reacts differently when scared or hurting. At Banner Children’s, we provide families and patients with many tools so we can best understand how your child is feeling. Depending on the child’s age, we may look at how they are holding their face and body, ask them to look at pictures of faces that change from smiling to crying, or have them talk about their pain on a scale from 0 to 10.
At Banner Children’s, our entire staff works together with the patient and the patient’s family to ensure the most comfortable and successful hospital stay possible.
