Banner Desert Medical Center and our Banner Brain & Spine team provides excellent care and treatment for stroke. Immediate care for stroke patients begins in the Banner Desert Emergency Room and extends throughout the hospital stay. This includes advanced imaging for emergent intervention, neurosurgical procedures, medication management, including the administration of Alteplase (the only medication approved by the FDA for stroke), and assessment for each patient’s rehabilitation needs and other services following discharge from the hospital.
Our multidisciplinary Stroke Center team is composed of Stroke Neurologists, Neuro Endovascular Specialists, Neurosurgeons, specialty trained nurses, pharmacists, social workers, case managers, rehabilitation therapists, and multiple other health care professionals. This dedicated Banner Brain & Spine team works diligently to develop an individualized plan of care to meet each patient’s recovery goal for an optimal outcome.
