The birth of a new baby is a happy and joyous time. But sometimes, babies are born early or ill and need special care.
The purpose of a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) is to provide specialized care for sick or premature infants. Our Level III NICU provides individualized care for premature infants and ventilator-dependent newborns.
Banner Children's at Diamond Children's Medical Center provides a pediatrics intensive care unit (PICU) with specialized services for specific childhood diseases.
Your child will receive direct patient care, and we will keep you and your family up to date on all conditions and care. We will also partner with your child’s doctors and specialists.
Our Pediatric Critical Care Board-certified pediatricians provide 24/7, in-house, comprehensive, family-centered care.
With a family-centered care plan, the PICU normally admits patients up to age 18 and older.
