Banner Rehabilitation Hospital Tucson, a new, 44-bed all-private-room medical rehabilitation hospital in Tucson, Arizona. This is the fourth rehabilitation hospital to open as part of a joint venture between partners Banner Health and Select Medical. The other three hospitals are located in the greater Phoenix area.

WHY:
There is an increasing need for inpatient rehabilitative care for those recovering from stroke, traumatic brain injury and other debilitative medical conditions and illness in the greater Tucson region. The new rehabilitation hospital will help patients recover, resume an independent lifestyle and return to the community.
BACKGROUND ON THE SELECT MEDICAL – BANNER HEALTH JOINT VENTURE PARTNERSHIP:
- Select Medical and Banner Health announced their joint venture agreement in January 2018.
- Under the partnership, three rehabilitation hospitals have been established in the greater Phoenix area, including:
- Banner Rehabilitation Hospital West – opened September 2020
- Banner Rehabilitation Hospital Phoenix – opened October 2020
- Banner Rehabilitation Hospital East – opened April 2022.
- The partnership also includes outpatient physical therapy programs and services delivered at 61 Banner Physical Therapy centers, and one Banner Children's Physical Therapy center.
