CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (April 29, 2025) – Banner Casa Grande Medical Center on Monday opened the first phase of the hospital’s master improvement plan to better serve central Arizona.
“This is another great demonstration of continued investment by Banner Health since acquiring the hospital more than 10 years ago,” said John Scherpf, chief executive officer of hospital. “We are committed to serving the city, Pinal County and the region with needed services as it continues to grow.”
On Monday, the hospital opened three new endoscopy suites, a new central sterile processing department and relocated administrative offices to make room for clinical expansion. Design and construction of the $11.5 million project took about 13 months.
“The first phase of the master campus plan sets the stage for further expansion and improvements for our growing community,” Scherpf said. “We want to make sure our patients know they get the best care closer to home rather than having to go an hour or more north or south for treatment or testing.”
The new endoscopy space includes new video technology, new support space for patient check-in and post-procedure recovery, and new space for scope reprocessing.
The processing space is larger and designed to optimize team member efficiency and safety. It includes new processing equipment including washers and sterilizers. It also has upgrades to allow the team members to effectively perform their duties more efficiently.
The Monday ribbon cutting included Casa Grande Mayor Lisa Navarro Fitzgibbons, Casa Grande Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Renee Louzon-Benn and Garth Hosch, senior superintendent of Integrity Construction Corp.
