PHOENIX (Nov. 19, 2024) - Banner Estrella Medical Center played host to a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit graduation celebration event for families whose babies had spent time in the NICU at the hospital. The medical team at the NICU planned games, food and a special visit of first responders making it a fun and special morning on Saturday for the many families in attendance.
Banner Estrella, known for its exceptional care in women and infant services, welcomed a total of 5,554 babies in 2023, with 480 babies who required specialized care and support in the NICU department, many of these premature babies spent months at the hospital requiring a personalized plan of care that evaluates the baby’s unique strengths and challenges.
"It was incredibly heartwarming to witness the joy on the faces of the families as they celebrated the milestones of their babies. Our dedicated NICU team always goes the extra mile to provide exceptional care to our little patients and it is rewarding to them to see the families as well," said Hannah Fox, director of women and infant services at Banner Estrella Medical Center.
The NICU graduation celebration not only highlighted the resilience and progress of the babies but also served as a touching tribute to the unwavering dedication of the medical staff at Banner Estrella Medical Center.
