MESA, Ariz. (Dec. 23, 2024) – Banner Children’s at Desert received a large donation from Fit Body Boot Camp Arizona to benefit pediatric patients.
The generous donation on December 23 included 2,511 items for all ages and was brought to the hospital in a 26-foot U-Haul truck. Fit Body Boot Camp Arizona staff, members and their families unloaded the haul in a celebration that included Santa and Banner Children’s team members. This is the eighth year the Fit Body Boot Camp Arizona community has made the donation, and the largest toy donation received by the hospital.
“This thoughtful donation brings joy, comfort, and a little bit of magic to the children who need it most,” said Laura Robertson, Banner Desert CEO. “It’s amazing to see the Fit Body community come together, helping us live out our mission to create a positive experience for patients in our care.”
The items will fill the toy closest which are visited by patients in the hospital. Each child can make a selection from the closet as a reward for bravery following a treatment or procedure, or as a way to enjoy a comfort of home they may be missing.
“Banner Children’s is a place that touches the lives of our community, either directly in our own families or through friends and neighbors. It is a true point of pride to support their mission the last eight years,” said Ben Jones, Fit Body Arizona owner/CEO.
