Forbes ranks Banner Health as top employer in Wyoming

All four hospitals recognized

CASPER, Wyo. (Dec. 13, 2024) – Banner Health, one of the country's largest, secular nonprofit health care systems, has been recognized by Forbes magazine on its prestigious list of “America’s Best Employers By State,” ranking as the No. 1 employer in Wyoming.

Banner operates four hospitals in Wyoming, all of which were recognized, including Banner Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Platte County Hospital in Wheatland, Torrington Community Hospital in Torrington and Washakie Medical Center in Worland. Each facility embodies Banner’s commitment to excellence by offering high-quality health care services while fostering a positive and dynamic work environment.

“This recognition as the top employer in the state of Wyoming highlights our dedication to creating a workplace where employees feel valued, supported and empowered,” said Margo Karsten, senior vice president of Banner's Western Division hospitals. “At Banner Health, we believe that investing in our people not only strengthens our organization but also enhances the care we provide to the communities we serve. We are honored by this distinguishment.”

To create the “Best Employers By State” list, Forbes, in partnership with market research firm Statista, conducted an extensive survey of over 160,000 employees from companies with at least 500 employees across the United States. The rankings were based on employees' willingness to recommend their workplace to others and their assessment of their employer’s policies on working conditions, diversity, career development and more.

As organizations worldwide navigate a period of workforce stability dubbed the “Big Stay” by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development wherein employee retention has risen, companies like Banner stand out for their ability to retain and engage top talent. With initiatives focused on career development, skill-building and mental health, Banner prioritizes professional growth, satisfaction and the all-around well-being of its employees.
