John Groesbeck appointed to oversee acute care operations in Arizona

PHOENIX (Sept. 30, 2024) – John Groesbeck has been appointed senior vice president of acute care operations for Banner Health’s Arizona community hospitals, Banner Health announced today.

Groesbeck has been the chief financial officer over Banner’s Arizona community hospitals for the last seven years and has more than 23 years of experience in health care finances and administration.

John has been an unwavering financial leader, having made a great impact on community delivery and the entire system,” said Todd Werner, president of acute care delivery for Banner Health, in announcing the appointment. “Through his extensive health care experience, he has developed a unique blend of deep operational and financial insights that enable him to successfully navigate today’s health care complexities.”

Groesbeck came to Banner in 2017 after six years as a finance officer for Kaiser Permanante in California and 10 years as a chief financial officer of St. Luke’s Health System in Idaho. Prior to that, Groesbeck worked for the prestigious Deloitte and Touche accounting firm in Idaho. He holds a bachelor’s degree of business administration in accounting and finance from Idaho State University.
