‘Lights of Love’ to bring holiday cheer to hospitalized kids

Events planned for Mesa, Glendale and Tucson

PHOENIX (Dec. 9, 2024) – Arizona’s largest private ambulance service provider, American Medical Response, is partnering with Banner Children’s medical centers for the third annual “Lights of Love” event throughout December. Emergency medical response vehicles festooned with holiday lights and flashing emergency lights will parade around the parking lot in front of our three Banner Children’s medical centers for kids in the hospital to enjoy from the vantage point of their rooms. Santa Claus and the Grinch also will make a special appearance.

“No matter what time of year it is, when a child must stay in the hospital, it is emotionally challenging for them and for their families,” said AMR Regional Director Todd Jaramillo. “During the holiday season, their difficulties feel amplified. Bringing hope and joy to a child that is struggling with injury or illness is one of most rewarding things we can do in our community. Our goal for the Third Annual Lights of Love events will continue to bring communities together and exceed last year’s representation.”

Community members are invited to participate in this heartwarming display of holiday spirit by gathering outside and displaying colorful lights for the kids to see from their windows. Donations of new, unwrapped toys or gift cards to stock the toy closets are welcome.
