PHOENIX (Dec. 9, 2024) – Amy Perry, president and CEO of Banner Health, has earned recognition as one of Modern Healthcare’s 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare in 2024.
This recognition program annually acknowledges and honors individuals deemed via Modern Healthcare’s nomination and selection process to be the industry’s most influential figures in leadership and impact.
Perry is leading one of the nation’s largest secular nonprofit hospital systems into its third decade with a clear vision for advancing the future of health care through quality improvement, affordability, access and care across the lifespan.
“This honor is a testament to the exceptional work and dedication of our Banner Health team to deliver our mission,” Perry said. “Our purpose, to make health care easier so life can be better, encourages an innovative and caring culture, and our team is leading and influencing advancements in both health care and coverage.”
Perry promotes the importance of personal relationships and connections through a “One Team” approach. Banner has adopted a High Reliability Organizational model that rewards teamwork and continuous improvement. Banner’s significant capital investments in technology are leveraging the monumental shift in AI and large data models to improve quality, efficiency, physician work/life balance, and consumer satisfaction. Banner reported the nation’s lowest burnout levels in health care for 2024 and exceeded performance targets for talent retention and engagement, significantly reducing voluntary turnover rates across all employees. She led the system as it earned national recognition as a certified Great Place to Work, a globally recognized, research-backed endorsement of outstanding employee experience.
“Amy is deeply committed to building on the legacy of Banner Health as a system that does right for its patients and members and seeks to provide the best care and experience possible,” said Anne Mariucci, chair of the Banner Health Board of Directors. “Her strategic decision-making and leadership make her incredibly deserving of this recognition. We look forward to the continued success of Banner under her guidance and thank the team members who implement this vision each day.”
This is Perry's second time being named one of Modern Healthcare's 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare. She has also been recognized three times as one of Modern Healthcare's Top 25 Women Leaders and twice as one of Becker's Top 130 Women Healthcare Leaders to Know.
Perry is listed at number 82 on the 2024 list of the 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare. The complete ranking was published in the Dec. 9 issue of Modern Healthcare magazine, and profiles of all honorees are online at ModernHealthcare.com/100MostInfluential.
