GLENDALE, Ariz. (Jan. 1, 2024) – A Phoenix family is celebrating the New Year with a new life — a newborn boy who was delivered only a few minutes after midnight on Monday.
Rylie Steg, 27, gave birth to a healthy 7-pound boy, Maveric, at 12:03 a.m. at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center. Christian Singleton, 24, said he and Rylie joked about planning for a New Year’s delivery but were ecstatic when it actually worked out that way.
“It’s just a blessing — we’re just so excited to bring in the New Year with him,” Christian said. “We chose the name ‘Maveric’ because we really liked its symbolism of being a free spirit.”
Rylie and Christian said they are looking forward to cherishing countless special moments to come with Maveric, their first child.
