GLENDALE, Ariz. (April 17, 2025) – Banner Health and UDLR Healthcare on Wednesday celebrated the grand re-opening of the Banner Thunderbird Medical Pavilion located on the Banner Thunderbird Medical Center campus in Glendale, Ariz.

The grand re-opening event included Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers and executives from Banner Health and UDLR participating in a ribbon-cutting ceremony, guided tours of the new facility and an open house of entities in the pavilion. The event was co-hosted by UDLR and the Phoenix office of JLL, the leasing brokers for the property.

“We are incredibly excited to unveil the next step in our improvements to this Thunderbird campus,” said Debbie Flores, chief executive officer of Banner Thunderbird Medical Center. “This redevelopment reflects our commitment to providing high-quality, accessible healthcare in a modern and comfortable setting.”

The Thunderbird Medical Pavilion was the first investment for UDLR Healthcare, a new venture between GI Partners and former executives from Healthcare Trust of America, created to invest in the medical office sector. It was acquired in December 2023. Since that time, ULDR has completed a strategic renovation of the property, including full exterior building renovations, upgraded common areas, new building monument signage, upgraded interior wayfinding, refreshed landscaping, improvements to a pedestrian bridge that connects to the main Banner Thunderbird hospital and investments in building operations that maximize energy efficiency, security and functionality.

“The Banner Thunderbird Medical Pavilion renovation was completed in lockstep with Banner’s overarching mission to serve as the preeminent healthcare provider for metro Phoenix’s West Valley,” said UDLR Chief Executive Officer Robert Milligan. “Our grand re-opening is a benchmark in that effort, bringing an on-campus, state-of-the-art outpatient setting that improves the medical experience for patients and providers alike. We appreciate the trust Banner has placed in UDLR and we look forward to our continued partnership with the hospital, the Banner Foundation and the tenants and patients who will continue to bring this vision to life.”

It has completed the delivery of two move-in-ready spec suites offering turn-key lease options for dental and medical users. And has welcomed the addition of tenants providing podiatry services, lab services, behavioral health and clinical trials.

“This campus is employing over 2,750 employees and that’s a big deal,” said Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers on Wednesday. “That’s jobs, that’s lifestyles, that’s opportunities, that’s taxable income and that gives me what I need to run a city to make this city where people want to come here. And I think we are proving that each and every day.”

The redevelopment project was completed in partnership with SmithGroup, Tepcon Construction, Okland Construction and AK-SAR-BEN Companies. State 48 Integrations installed an energy management system driving significant energy improvements. BMO Bank N.A. provided financing.

Leasing representatives for the facility are Katie McIntyre and Mari Lederman.

As part of the celebration, UDLR presented the Banner Foundation with a donation of $25,000.
