Three Banner Urgent Care clinics transitioning to Same-Day Care

Clinics will offer same great care with enhanced scheduling options

PAYSON, Ariz. (Apr. 29, 2025) – Three Banner Urgent Care clinics in northeastern Arizona communities will be transitioning to Banner Same-Day Care clinics this summer in an effort to provide improved access to affordable, ongoing care for people and their families.

Starting July 28, Banner Urgent Care locations in Payson, Pinetop-Lakeside and Show Low will begin operating as Banner Same-Day Care under Banner Medical Group, one of the nation’s leading non-profit health care networks. While still retaining the capacity to treat unexpected, urgent illness, these new clinics will also offer convenient online appointment scheduling from same day to three days in advance for non-urgent needs. Driven by a primary care model with an emphasis on availability and support, community members will have access to preventive care services and continued care with the same providers at each clinic.

“We recognize the need for better primary care options in our rural communities, which is why we decided to make this change,” said Hoyt Skabelund, chief executive officer of Banner Payson Medical Center. “We’re excited to help offer people more options for quality care, whether that means walking in after an unexpected injury or scheduling an appointment in advance for less urgent health concerns.”

The new clinics will use a team-based approach with the ability to develop specialized treatment plans, write prescriptions and manage ongoing health needs for patients seeking care for non-life-threatening conditions. By introducing advanced scheduling options and maintaining the ability to walk in for treatment, patients will be able to receive more individualized and accessible care when they most need it.

Clinic locations and phone numbers will remain the same, and will operate under new hours:

  • Monday-Friday: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Saturday: 8 a.m. to noon
  • Sunday: Closed
