For those who have had a loved one experience hospice services, or for those who are new to hospice, the results are the same: a feeling by everyone involved that the patient is receiving the best care possible. This care is not only for the relief of physical pain and suffering, but also the providing of support for the patient’s emotional and spiritual needs.
A volunteer’s simple act of kindness of staying with a patient while a family member takes time to attend to the normal demands of life, is immeasurable.
With a simple visit, a volunteer can help alleviate feelings of isolation when a person has found themselves to be near the end of their life and not able to spend the time they once could engaging in social activities.
We match Hospice volunteers based on patients’ and their families’ needs and by travel distance. Banner Hospice provides care to people throughout Phoenix and the surrounding areas.

Once accepted as a volunteer, you'll be given an ID badge and will become a member of our care team. You will have many opportunities to meet with other hospice volunteers and share experiences.
