Summer Intensive CPE units run between 10 to 12 weeks and are full-time programs. Students are required to work 40 hours per week, including educational and clinical time. The Summer Intensive Program is designed primarily for those engaged in graduate theological education and ministry formation. Priority is given to those applicants currently pursing seminary education. Other persons with interest in ministry (including lay ministers with professional education and/or interest in obtaining professional education for ministry) will also be considered for admission.
Summer Intensive units offer only CPE Level I programs. Additional units for CPE Level I or CPE Level II must be taken either as Extended Units or through application and admission to the
Residency Program.
Additional Units, whether taken as a single extended unit or as part of three consecutive units, requires a separate admission process. The Residency requires a single admission process.
Due to the intensity of the program, we recommend that you carefully plan your personal and professional schedules during the months of the program, allowing enough hours to complete all clinical and educational hours, as well as self-care.
In addition to clinical time, the 40-hours of weekly work include one weekly educational session, individual supervision sessions, and participation to the on-call day and night shift rotation.
To apply for the Residency Program, you must meet the following requirements:
