Banner - University Medical Center South (BUMCS) is an academic medical center focused on providing exceptional care, teaching future health care professionals, and conducting groundbreaking research to help the people of Arizona and beyond. BUMCS serves as a major provider of behavioral health services for the Southern Arizona community. In addition to the inpatient services, it is affiliated with several multi-specialty clinics to promote continuity of care and provide outpatient services.

BUMCS is the home to several medical residency programs, including emergency medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedics, general surgery, and psychiatry. This provides a productive environment for teaching and collaborative patient care teams.

The pharmacy department provides 24-hour services. Decentralized pharmacy staff are located in the emergency department, intensive care unit, medical/surgical units and behavioral health units.

Banner Health is one of the largest, nonprofit health care systems in the country and the leading nonprofit provider of hospital services in all the communities we serve. Throughout our network of hospitals, primary care health centers, research centers, labs, physician practices and more, our skilled and compassionate professionals use the latest technology to make health care easier, so life can be better. Banner Health fosters belonging through its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. In doing so, we strive to make Banner a great place to work and receive care. Our strategy includes cross-functional collaboration with leaders in talent acquisition, workforce development, learning and development, employee resource groups, employee relations, patient care, language assistance services, community benefits and supplier diversity.
