Patients have access to new and innovative therapies for advanced asthma through our collaboration with our colleagues at Banner – University Medical Center Tucson. This research coordination gives our patients access to treatments and therapies before they may be widely available.
The Asthma and Obstructive Lung Disease Center is a nationally-recognized Clinical Resource Center for Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (Alpha-1). This genetic condition is passed from parents to their children. It can result in serious lung disease in adults and liver disease at any age. Our experts work closely with the Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix Advanced Liver Disease Institute to treat patients with Alpha-1.
The Center also offers treatment for advanced emphysema, chronic bronchitis and other advanced lung diseases.
Since the Center is part of the Lung Institute, patients will find all the testing they need right in the same building, including pulmonary function testing, cardiopulmonary exercise testing, and lab work.
