Banner Health provides mental health education and support to the communities we serve. We host support groups for those who suffer with substance abuse, loss, mental health crises and other conditions. If you or a family member needs support to deal with a mental health problem, Banner Health’s behavioral and mental health specialists are ready to help.

Resources and Support Groups

ALANON Support Group - open meetings for families who deal with alcoholism at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center.

Dottie Kissinger Bereavement Camp for Children - a free community program to help children cope with the loss of a loved one.  

Grief and Bereavement Recovery Program - Banner Hospice offers a multi-week educational Grief Recovery Program that follows a step-by-step approach as a way of healing from loss. Learn more about the program here.

Online Grief Groups - Banner Hospice now offers online grief groups free-of-charge. Participation is limited to 10 people each group and registration is required. Learn more about our online grief groups

Grief and Hospice Support Groups and Classes - Banner Hospice offers educational programs and support for people experiencing loss. Please check our events calendar for more information.

Mental Health and Substance Abuse Resources - The Pavilion and Crisis Response Center (CRC) at the Banner – University Medical Center South offers care for patients in the middle of mental health or substance abuse crises.

Grief and Survivors of Suicide Groups - Banner Churchill Community Hospital offers support groups for people grieving the loss of a loved one and for adults who are Survivors of Suicide Loss (SOSL).

Outpatient Behavioral Health Support Services - Community Partners, Inc. offers outpatient behavioral health services for all ages with a focus on substance abuse and life-adjustment issues. 

Banner Academy - A school for Children with Developmental Problems and Autism located in Tempe, Arizona, is for emotionally fragile 4th through 12th graders who are diagnosed with developmental problems, learning disabilities, Asperger’s syndrome or autism-spectrum disorders. Behavioral Sleep Medicine Clinic - Behavioral Sleep Medicine is dedicated to the prevention, identification and treatment of sleep disorders and their consequences. Banner – University Medicine Crisis Response Center

The Crisis Response Center in Tucson, Arizona, provides 24/7 access to mental health and substance use services for both children, teens and adults. The Crisis Response Center can help patients who are experiencing suicidal thoughts or behaviors, anxiety, hallucinations and substance use/detox. Learn more about the response center here.
